Breeding age for zonatas and pyros

olenoides Oct 06, 2007 02:21 PM

I'm interested in knowing what ages zonatas and pyros are productive breeders. I've heard a female can produce young at 3 years but that is better to wait until she is four. I've been told a male is ready at 18 months. Also, how old can zonatas and pyros be (both male and female) and still breed? Thanks, Carl

Snakes maturity comes with size rather than age, but in the case of normal feeding rate breeding should take place in their third year. I have two female pyro knoblochi born 2004, but I considered them a bit too small to breed this year, so I skipped that plan and await next season.
