RES eating Basking Platform

su7kids Oct 14, 2007 10:00 AM

My two RESs are biting the bottom of their basking platform. They grab on to the bottom with their mouth and push off with their front "feet" and it snaps off. I can't see that they're getting big pieces off but am wondering what this is about.

Its not a "regular" turtle dock, and I can't find a picture of it. It fits in the corner, also with the rubber suction system.

RES tend to munch on about everything in their tank. I'm not sure what your basking platform is made of but if the turtle(s) continue to take chunks off I would consider getting a new platform that they can't tear apart.
