What type of bedding for water dragon??

gothicbambi Oct 16, 2007 01:32 PM

What type of bedding should I use for my water dragon?
He has newspaper right now, but I think he needs some nice bedding, I read that you should use peat moss? Will green moss work? Sorry for the newb qs, I deal with snakes not lizards lol.

well, there are a ton of different options with WD's. you need something that will retain moisture and not get moldy. for this i would say; reptibark or something similiar, orchid/spaghnum moss, green moss, or sheet moss. you could use dirt or peat moss, but if you have a water dish the dirt makes them get dirty VERY fast, like 3 hoursish.

No, not repti-bark!! If you could see the pics I recently saw, you wouldn't consider it either. If your dragon is under a year old, I recommend repti-carpet. If he is older, I would also recommend eco-earth, bed-a-beast or organic soil.
