My res's only get about an hour of direct sunlight. Is this enough? Is it enough for them to absorb enough vitamin D? Or should they get more sunlight?
I wonder, too, if indirect sunlight is just as helpful.

If you are concerned with getting enough light you should think of buying a UVA/UVB light. Indirect sunlight doesn't help with vitamin absorption.
These are outdoor turtles. Someone once told me that 20 minutes of direct sunlight a day is enough to offer them the correct amout of vitamin D absorption. I can offer them no more, meaning my yard only gets an hour of direct sunlight due to nearby buildings.
What do you all think? At least they're getting some sun. But in the future I may move them to my upper balcony, which gets a lot more sun.
Are they in a tank or a pond?
