How do you tell the difference between a female and a male Alligator Lizard?
Is it true that you can tell the sex by if their tail is round at the tip or not?
What are some other ways

Thank you, I appreciate it!

You have to look at head shape, unless you get lucky and have a male evert a hemipene. Males will typically have broader heads than females. In southerns, you don't start to see a noticable difference until the lizards are over two years of age. In my breeder pair of madreans, I can't see any discernable difference.

See below for a pair of southerns.

When can you tell with Northerns?
