me and my new wood turtle are having a difficult time acclimating to eachother- i got a waters edge water bowel that is flooding the tank- is an inch of water ok?seems like it might be hard to clean-i am using ice to drive up humiidity but that is not working- what should i use as a water bowel? he is now in the course of knocking a plant saucer over- thanks,
zach

go to the dollar store and look for something thats the right size. I've used everything from plates to soft taco holders. pie pans, tupper ware etc... goodluck

waters edge bowls are worthless for a ca wood. you need to provide him with a deeper bowl, I used small rubbermaid tubs with the substrate deep enough up to the lip of the tub. they need deep substrate to dig & hide.get some cheap fake plants from walfart, stick those in the substrate like trees. ice? no. get a mist spray bottle and mist it a few times a day. and remember heat is important

nothing fancy, just keep up on those water changes I'd do daily or so.
