ill start with where i found it...

West central TX in taylor county rural area at least 1/2 mile from closest pond - found around in-laws house in a new developed area

i found a few here... they are a light gray off whiteish color the largest being almost 1 in. the smallest being a little under 1/2 in.

the reason i wanted to know is so i can collect some next summer and possible breed some for some picky hognose...

you'll have to check with your local fish and wildlife dept. but i'm pretty sure breeding most native species is illegal. and i'm guessing collecting them and using them as food is also. not 100% sure though. it would be illegal cause you would be disrupting the local wildlife. you probably wouldn't get caugt unless you went up to a officer and told them, but thats not the point...
