Anyone with experience in Thailand?

Jeff Schofield Nov 14, 2007 09:19 PM

I will be going over there for a couple weeks next month and would like to do some exploring. I also will take a look for neat stuff in the famous Bangkok market. Anyone been over there or know where I can get some info? Jeff

Can't help out much with herping advice. however Kao San Road is the place in Bankok that caters to tourists. at night you can get full size BBQ chicken legs and thighs, octopus on a stick, chicken livers, hearts...oh, i could go on and on. If you want meat and lots of it, you go to Kao San Road in Bangkok after dark. Probably the best watermelon and pineapple anywhere in the world also. Good travels, Rusty

Only just seen this so could not reply before you left.
I have been going there for the last 7 years and love the place. Never seen a snake in the wild (just road kill) and only ever found some snakes for sale in the Chatuchuk (sp?) weekend market this year. The only one I recognised was the Golden Tree Snake. There were a couple of species of water snake and one other land species which I have no idea what it was.
What did you think of it? What were your experiences? Did you go to the Red Cross Snake Farm (Bangkok) and any of the Snake Shows?
Graham.
