Looking for a new liz, have a bit of exp

Hey everyone...

I'm looking to get a new lizard. In the past i owned a beardy, however, she died inexplainably(I did take her to the vet multiple times and she was on a healthy diet...The vet took her up for a week of research because he had no idea...He came up blank, sadly.) I have helped my friend out with his leopard in the past. I currently own a Geochelone Sulcata. Going to a expo soon and am picking up a corn snake and hopefully a friendly lizard!

I am looking for a lizard that will maybe get to a point that when i walk in the room he claws at his terrarium to get out . I would really like a lizard that enjoys handling basically. I can handle a more advanced lizard, however, I do not currently have the space for a tegu/monitor lizard.

Thanks for all help guys!!!

There are several species that may do this. Of course, you already know the beardie is personable - there's also the the uromastyx, plated lizard and an ackie (dwarf monitor species). Do your research on each one and see which one might provide you what you're looking for in a lizard...

what about a uromastyx...like a mali or something. if you can get a desert iguana i think they can be personable. only get like 18 inches. or i have heard the big plated lizards are also personable. a blue tongue skink

Like previous posters said, if you have the cage space for a bearded dragon then your best bets would be uro, blue tongue, or ackie. Uro and blue tongues are probably less expensive than ackies, but don't rule out the little monitor. These are so far my favorite lizard species, and mine is always very happy to be handled.
