Rubber/Plastic Bands Around Turtles

colorfulcritters Nov 17, 2007 05:50 AM

Someone posted here that they'd found a turtle like, this(in a grotesque shape due to being bound around the shell,) and I can tell you how come.

The Chinese practice this. I see hundreds of them 'bound by plastic bands' when they're hatchlings over here in Taiwan. They apparently want to shape them to look oblong. It may have some religious cannotations.

If any of you find any like this in the states, you should contact some authorities to see if this is right.

It's not right to do that, humans are sometimes callous and disgusting when they do things like this to animals. It's the same with cutting ears and tails of dogs, cruel and unneeded.
