New Tree frog with injury

lizardboy187 Nov 19, 2007 08:15 AM

I recently picked up an American green tree frog from my local pet store and it has a really bad abrasion on its face extending from its nose almost to its eyes in a triangle that covers the entire region between. When I first placed him in the enclosure he went into the water then stuck to the side then swam towards some rocks and vanished for a couple days. When putting the lid back onto it yesterday he reappeared. He stayed up on the glass for a little while then made his way to the cup that my bromeliad forms and slept there for the rest of the day, this morning I'm not sure where he is. I was wondering if there was anything I can do for his nose I don't want him to get an infection or for it to get worse.

take a q-tip and put a very small amount of bedadine and put this on it's cut every day or every other day. it helps prevent infection as well as help the cut mend. i'm not a vet just so u know. i have used this a bunch of times with great sucess though.
