Tell me that is not the turtle's living space we are looking at in that picture? How old is this turtle? What kind is it? The eye looks very serious. I would take it to the vet like yesterday.

If that's the turtle's living place, it's FILTHY! No wonder the turtle's got eye problems!! You need to house the poor thing properly and take him to the vet! Jeez. That green water is dissolved POOP. You like to live in that??
Didn't think so, neither should the turtle.

Hi, Is this a box turtle? It's hard to say from the
picture.

If this is a water turtle this cage and small water container
is completely unacceptable! Slider turtles need mostly
water with a dry basking area. Box turtles need a large
dry enclosure with a small water area for soaking. Hopefully
your friend know what kind of turtle it is

It's eye almost looks like either an injury or an infection.
Please ask this person to do some research and improve this
poor things care. Also I would recommend a vet visit.

Let us know how things turn out.

The eye looks like dry skin peeling from here but it can be caused by infection or injury

Is that a Pacific pond turtle or some sort of Asian species?
