I posted this same thing on the Field Notes and Observations forum.

The latest exotic to appear on my block. Very healthy looking spiny, about two feet long. Amazing how the color blends with the tree he has picked out to call home. Has been hanging out there for about a week now. First one of these I’ve seen in our neighborhood in Ft. Lauderdale, but this is about two blocks from the river (where the green iguanas are very common).
Not up on my spiny iguana I.D. ability. Is this a Mexican or Blacktail?

C. similis - I think the common name is Black Spiny Tail iguana. They are common in certain areas of South Florida. They are the more common of the two Ctenosaura species found in Florida.
