Substrate/bedding

eobsoleta Dec 04, 2007 03:16 PM

I recently had a large sulcata quite literally left in a basket by my office. There was a note attached and everything. I converted a large baby pool into an enclossure for him and I am at a loss for the best substrate to use. Any info would be very appreciated.

I use grass hay--it's cheap and they can also snack on it.

I pick up a bale of hay that cost 8 dollars, store it in the garage and change bedding once a week. 1 bale can last me up to a year.

Just be careful with any heat sources you may be using--like heat lamps or anything, make sure the hay stays away from it.
