Lancaster Herp Society Events

rugbyman2000 Dec 14, 2007 09:29 AM

To give everyone an idea what we're about, we've had lots of great speakers and members nights with plenty of formal presentations, informal presentations, live animals....and FIELD TRIPS.

In the last year we've had lots of wild herping/photography trips, visits to zoological instituations, and much more of this kind of fun stuff. If you are in the PA area, or even out of state, you are always welcome to stop in and check out the Lanc Herp Society. Please contact me or any other member for questions about upcoming events, times, etc.

Cheers
Jesse

Jesse,
Based on that picture, people are going to think we are about Christian cucumbers, not herps...

Just so everyone knows we are not JUST about Christian cucumbers, here are some of our other herp trips...

Eastern Worm Snake in NJ

Salamander

Hognose playing dead

Roy playing alive

Easter Garter

FL Soft Shell, a favorite food of America Alligators.

PA's most venomous species, but also one of the most docile (although we don't reccomend picking one up).

And finally I will leave you with a picture of a very rare species. Our club believes we own the only known photograph of this particular reptile.

Scroll down to view this rarely seen organism.

Jesse,

Very funny picture. I to agree that you are probably the only people to have such a picture. Way to go on the great find! We should try to form a combined function sometime between our two scoieties.

I know I was supposed to make it to a few meetings, but it has been hard with work. But now that summer is here it might be much easier.

Hey Harvey,
We are having Carl Ernst this week, the famous herpetological author for many northeastern herps. It is this Friday if you guys can make it. I think it would be a great one for you to check out and I'm sure some of our gang would like to meet you guys.
