rear fang ownership in Illinois

DMD87 Dec 14, 2007 03:37 PM

i am thinking about getting a false water cobra, and was wanting to know the basics about them.i understand that the venom will not kill an adult human, what ive read off hear is that their venom is more annoying than anything else.ive had reptiles for 12 years so husbandry basics and handling ive got down.ive had very tempermental snakes the whole time and have only been bittn twice.that was in the last month by my jungle carpet python thats only 2 months old.i cant even walk near the cage without being struck at.also if anyone knows the laws pertaining to rer fang ownership in IL. that would be a great help

You cannot have any venemous reptiles in Illinois. I used to be on here about 7 years ago. I lived most of my life from birth in Chicago. At one time the law said no poisonous reptiles and as we know snakes are venomous not poisonous, so I had 2 Mangroves. Some people will ship others will not. I had shipments made by Delta Dash and I picked up at O'Hare.Of course this was back in 2000. I have since moved. I hope this helps.
