Thanks, just fed them pinkies a week ago for the first time, hope to have them fattened up by spring, when I put them in an outdoor pond set-up to hopefully breed?
I noticed you have quite an assortment of critters, FBT is that florida box turtles? do you breed them?

when you put them outside for breeding...i don't know cause i don't know where you live. but if you live someplace reasonable for them to breed then yes, they should breed. careful not to use pesticides and all.

FBT=fire-bellied toad, unfortunatly, i wish they were boxies.
good luck breeding them!

I live in Iowa and I have a small enclosed pond (400-500gal) on the Northeast side of my house, so it only recieves a couple hours of early morning sun, so I'm hoping they will have a good shot at breeding, my main concern is I think I will need to build a large chicken wire top over the whole area to keep the raccoons and out and I will have to move the goldfish to my other pond. I will post picts of the set-up this spring.

i would think that would work out really well, but make sure birds, oppsums, and racoons can't get in because most of them will go into the water to get them. and for birds i don't really know how you are going to keep them out, maybe with a really fine mesh. i have an enclosure for my bunnies that keeps all that stuff out if you want me to send you a pic. my e-mail address is otis07_@hotmail.com.

I was going to use hardware cloth, it's basically like a heavy duty chicken wire with sqaure holes only 1/2", should keep everything but brown snakes and tree frogs out which I don't mind seeing those two around every year.

beautiful tigers
but imust haveto say ,thosetigerprobly wontbreed if you just fatten em up and throw them into a outdoor enclosure in spring.
tigers are a little more trickyer than u think, outdoor enclosures definately work but they need some seasonal changes .
def let us knwo how it works
heres a big wild male for ya , he was every bit of 10inches possibly a foot ,twas a thrilling find

Nice tiger, thanks for the post. Have you successfully bred the tigers outside? If so, do you have any advise, and what set up worked for you? I have them in a dark, cold part of my basement right now and was planning to put them outside as early as possible without freezing them like maybe early march, so that hopefully with the lengthening days and change in weather they might get fired up. Maybe next year if that doesnt work I will try brumating them in the garage which gets much colder. Any advise? Thanks much
