What does everybody use for their flourescent lighting? I've heard about using the Coral Sun bulbs for snappers.

Do you mean for vitamin D synthesis or just for the light? The Coralife bulbs do throw out alot of light but I'm of the opinion that they are not needed for snappers. I've only ever used regular aquarium lighting and had no problems with their growth. I think the key is giving them whole fish along with a pelleted food.

What do you use for Vitamin D? Just the pellets? I know that mazuri is nutritionally complete according to their packaging. That's what my other turtles eat. I've been trying to get them to eat some pellets. Right now all they are eating is rosy reds. I'm new to the snapper/strictly water deal. thanks

I believe they get the majority of it from the whole fish. All my small turtles stay inside for the first several years but I try to put them in outside ponds once they're bigger. I've had common musks reach 2.5 inches in a year with minnows and reptomin.

Sounds good to me. Thanks
