My map turtle laid 8 eggs in tank !!

nobukuma Dec 27, 2007 01:47 AM

My map turtle laid 8 eggs in tank over night, and I'm wondering what to do.

It's siting bottom of the tank on middle sized river rocks, and I'm not sure weather it's still alive or not.

I'm sure it will break if I leave it there, and if there is a chance to raise these eggs, I want to give it a try.

Could anyone please tell me what should I do with these??

The eggs would be dead, if they were fertile to begin with. I would suggest you do some reasearch and give the turtle a proper area to nest, otherwise you will end up with a dead Female. You only get a few chances to do it right, before you end up with reproductive complications.
