Ingo or somebody smart...

I have an aussi right now and he's in a temp tank (75 gallons) and I just got an enormous aquarium for him for Christmas and was wondering if I could put water on the bottom. I was thinking 4-5ish inches of water with tons of huge driftwood pieces and fake plants, branches... lots of stuff for him to climb on. Would that make it too wet? could I just put him in it and see if it works?

I have seen this done with a WD before and the person had that lizard for 8 years. I was thinking, if that is too much water I could just put a plastic bin in with gravel (to make it sink) and wood, for him to sleep on or something? and for the crix to hand out.

You can not have too much water.
The only thing essential is that the animal needs enough dry (!) places for basking and resting and a corner with enough substrate to burrow itself completely.
