hibernating pixie

Lenny Jan 02, 2008 01:51 PM

My pixie has been sleeping for two months now. I haven't been feeding him but I have been watering him. Should I stop watering him?

You can, but you can keep him moist. I let mine dry out for the winter, but you should only attempt that if he is in great condition, and of a decent size. How large is yours, and what and how often is he fed?

He is 7 inches wide/long. I was feeding him 15 crickets 3 times weekly. Now that he is hibernating with his eyes closed I haven't been feeding him.

Thats good, no sense feeding if he is brumating.

Mine actually just woke himself up yesterday.

I would let the substrate dry out, but keep his water bowl full. I did not know they would wake themselves up, but mine had water in his bowl for months, he has been brumating since november. However, he just randomly woke up a few days ago.

He's asleep again.
