Armadillo lizard

mahlerfan Jan 07, 2008 09:44 AM

Is there anyone who is currently working with any of the Armadillo lizards. I currently purchased 2.2 Cordylus mossambicus, the Flame Belly Armadillo lizard. It's the first time I'm working with this genus.

Do a search. I found this link in about 60 seconds

I'm not sure which version I have, but I have 4 apparently female ones (I now have 6 babies).

The ones I have are the "cheap" ones you can see sometimes at Petsmart. I bought them at a show. They are really neat lizards - certainly some of the most active I've had.

I'd love to share any experiences and get a correct taxonomic ID.

They are called Forest Armadillo lizards (Cordylus tropidosternum) I had a trio of those a couple years back. Never did get babys. They like heat and are quite active.
