bloated baby grey tree frog update

KEdwards Jan 09, 2008 08:19 PM

He is eating pinheads like a champ again, and started bloating again tonight. Again, flushed him with tepid water and the swelling went down. Whatever it is, I hope it doesnt kill him eventually, but at least we have some success. I'm hoping its not a genetic defect that went along with his pigment gene.

Good news that hes eating, but ad news that hes still bloated. Hopefully it will all work out.

He's looking his best today. His posture is back to his normal, comfortable posture and there's no bloating. I suspect we're not out of the woods, but so far so good!

From your photo it seems as your frog has hydrops. You can do some research on this to determine the best action to take.

Hi, I'm sorry about your problem with your poor baby frog. I don't have any advice, but I was wondering if you ordered this frog online and where that might be? I've been searching for a vendor for months without success.

Thanks,

Kristen

I caught some gray tree frog tadpoles and I have raised them to be froglets. I'm going to keep them for a month to make sure they're healthy and have no genetic defects.
What area do you live in? I'm selling if you want some. They are very sweet little froglets and they are already used to people. They eat flightless fruit flies right now, but they are growing fast.
I don't know how to ship the animals, but I'd be willing to find out how. But I'd prefer it if you lived closer to my area (South Carolina USA).
I'm going to take pictures of the babies today and post them on here. Keep an eye out for them in the photo gallery.
