Need help: False Water Cobra

Hydrodynastes gigas.

I just received a baby from Marajó Island, Brazil. I tried a frozen thawned neonate but it refused.
Last night I threw a gecko in the cage, I still dont know if it ate it or not.

Could someone please help me how to get this little guy to eat?

When you say neonate..are you referring to a snake? I would try a live fuzzy mouse. If that will not work they take feeder goldfish, then you can get them on frozen thawed mice. They have a fast metabolism so I feed mine twice a week, and they grow like weeds.

They have a very strong feed response, and since they are rear fang venomous, do not have your hands in there while feeding.If the snake is nasty, treat it like a hot and use tools. I read a report of a guy in southern California who got bit by one.
He had numbness, temporary paralysis and heart palpitations.

Here is mine when I first got it. It is about 3 times the size now.
