Snapper enclosure?

DJsnapper Jan 17, 2008 07:39 PM

Hi.

I want to make an indoor enclosure for both my male and female common snapping turtles. I'm thinking of making a wooden one that measures 5ft. long, 4ft. wide, and 2ft. deep. (Hopefully this will be big enough for them to live their whole lives.) I'm open to any ideas or suggestions on the materials to use as well as any instructions to building one. Also, I would like to know what's the best way to make my enclosure waterproof or prevent it from leaking water.

Thanks
DJ

PS
If you know of any enclosures that are suitable for two adult common snappers, feel free to leave a lynk or a message.

i use a 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank for my alligator snapping turtle. its got a 5 or 5.5 foot diameter, about 3 feet deep. has a drain. heavy duty. look at your tractor and supply stores. farm supply stores. like fleet farm or something.
