Snapping turtle enclosure,

K20CivicSi Jan 24, 2008 10:15 PM

Well I have been doing research on the stock tanks, troffs and water land tubes for my snappers. If I went with the galvanized steal tanks would that galvanize be toxic or harmful to keep snappers in?

Thanks
Mitch

No, I have kept frogs in galvanized stock tanks for years with no ill effects. They wouldn't make them for animals to drink out of if they were. They will however make your water extremely alkaline. Rubbermaid stock tanks are an alternative, but the galvies hold more volume per area due to thier straight (top to bottom)sides.
