a friend contacted me. someone gave his girlfriend a turtle that is teal-ish color? inside each "scale" is a pentagon type shape. turtle isnt doing so well and since i have experience with reptiles and care enough to get it set up right, he asked me to take them. any idea what it could be? i havent seen it yet, but will post more info when i get them.

Young Pseudemys (cooters and red-bellies) can approach teal in color, and I can see how you might call some of their patterns pentagonal....but without photos it's really hard to say anything definitive. I suppose it could also be some other turtle with an odd pigmentation.
