Red Headed Agamas- Gravid

RMCADguy Jan 29, 2008 01:51 PM

Hello, I have two red headed agamas, they both came in to me gravid, and I am not sure how to set them up for laying.

Anyone worked with these guys before?

Things I really need to know are:
What is a good laying medium for them?
How moist should I keep the eggs?
What temp to incubate?

Thanks

Phil

and his mind I did fill".

All kidding aside,
He mailed me a day or two ago and I
gave him the heads up on working the

But, thanks for the flowers anyway!

Thanks very much both of you.

I have it all prepared for and I am just waiting on them to lay.
They are both eating still, and haven't shown any nesting behavior yet, though they are just packed with the eggs, you can see them very plainly. Hopefully it wont be too long now. I will post with pics as soon as they drop.

Thanks!

Lol. yeah I gotta work on the poetry.

I know only a bit about how the red heads, I have been keeping like a bearded dragon just a bit higher temps. They have been taking crickets, mealies and roaches, and a few bites at flowers and colorful greens.

The girls were gravid when they came to me. I ordered a pair from Mark M. Lucas, and he mixed up the order and sent 3, a 1.2 group, and both the girls were gravid when the came in. They are eating well and putting on weight. They were kinda thin when they came in. I am just waiting for them to lay, I assume they will stop eating and begin scratching around the cage to find a nest soon, they are visually gravid, you can see the eggs, they look like a bag of marbles.

I will post before and after shots of them when they lay, and then of the babies when they hatch.

Phil
