Mealworm Help!

ron3090 Feb 05, 2008 09:13 PM

I've been feeding crickets to my gecko for about two years now, but the pet supplier I used to get them from just closed down. Now I am trying mealworms, since they keep longer. I put 2 in his cage, and let him alone for a couple of hours. When I returned, he hadn't eaten one. I just have a terrarium liner, so they didn't burrow, and I removed his shelters, so he could see them better. Is there a better way to feed them to him? Also, when I first put them in, he sniffed them, then just crawled off. I'm sure they're alive.

I use a tweezers, but you can use a small forceps or a tong if you like. Just hold the mealworm infront of the gecko and move it a little bit to entice it to eat it. Works everytime for me.
