Where do i start.... had snake for 3/12 years since 1 month old.. up until about 2 years old he ate fine ... Fed him f/k mice and rats..Then out of no here HE WILL NOT STRIKE.....So i just started leaving rat in cage over night and he always ate it.But the weird thing is he wont constrict it , just eats it...
Did this fine for a year...Now its been over a month and he refuses the food.....usually feed once every 7-10 days...Any advice.....

hi there...read all my responses to the last post before yours, as I covered everything I can think of there. Can you give us some more info about the dum? length, girth? (just explain if he's thick or thin), what size rats have you been feeding him? How big was he when his feeding slowed down? Can you post a pic?

He is a little over 5ft and like 6 or 7 pounds.Not fat but thick..I feed him frozen large rats once every 7 - 10 days... Since last shed he ate with no prob 4 times in a row but then refused 5th feedind dues to shedding. I left him alone until he shed and usually hes always hungry after shed, but he refused the meal.I waited like 4 days and tried again but he dident eat it.Then i waited a week and tried but he still refused it again......

he's probably fine then...sounds like he reached maturity and has dropped off on the feeding. That's good cause it will cost you less money! lol Watch him carefully just to see if anything does seem wrong, but IMO he's fine. I guess something I didn't ask before is if he's constipated or not...has he been "going to the bathroom" on a regular basis? Do you have a water bowl in his cage big enough for him to soak in? Shallow plastic storage containers from Walmart work great if you don't have one. Hope this has been helpful! If anyone can think of something else, please reply too!

thanks for advice....kinda what i figured but good 2 hear it from somone else...thanks again ..i will try to post pics, but i have been having problems ....i will post pics soon .

if your having problems figuring out how to post a pic, then try these steps:
load pics to your kingsnake account. If the pics are too large (which is the problem with all my pics from my camera) and you don't have any other way to downsize them, then upload pics to a facebook or myspace, etc., account. Then you can save the pic (right click on it and save) and it will be small enough now. The easiest way though from that point, is to right click on image, go to properties, and copy the address (URL) (make sure you get the whole thing) and paste it directly into the message...add the following,butleave out the "?" symbol: [?img]place URL in between[?/img]
