adequate tank size?

geislandi Feb 24, 2008 01:32 AM

I'm thinking about getting a crested gecko, but my concern is that the empty tank I already have is 15 gallons regular, not vertical. If I provided the crestie with a lot of branches and other things to climb, would this be a problem?

That would be fine to start with, but eventually the gecko is going to want more space, and more vertical space. You'll need to either get a mesh topper like sleepygeckos has mentioned on here in the past (www.herpsupplies.com/product.cfm?id=SSR40010) (but find one sized for your 15 gallon) or go to a larger and more vertically oriented terrarium.

Very cool! I've never seen those before, but that may just solve my problem. Thanks!

you could also turnyour 15 gallon on its end for more vertical area until you get another set up.
