On average when full grown Phelsuma quadriocellata quadriocellata will be 4.3-4.7 inches. Males get bigger than females and normally have more brilliant coloration. To keep a pair, I would go no lower than a 20 gallon tank that is manufactured or customized to be taller than wider.
If I figure out how to attach pictures I will send some of my male Ph quad quad and also a pic of some of my terrariums that show a mfg'd and customized tank.

Great idea cutting the windows on the bamboo. I will be doing that myself for my female P. quadriocellata to enjoy once she is out of her mite-induced quarantine.

would $100 be a good price for a proven pair?

thanks for the info thanks tim

$100 is a good deal for a proven pair. Is this your first pair of Phelsuma? is this pair captive bred or wild caught? do you have an enclosure prepared?

yes i had a male grandis for 5 or so years in a 36x36x12 tank shared with a tokay gecko, a female white lined gecko, with no problems. but that was about 10 years ago. i still have that tank
with the hood. they are captive bred.

Hello,
I would say you could even do a pair in a 10gallon tank stood on end. I am keeping my pair in a coustom 10 gallon. Pretty much the same dimensions as a standard. These are a really fun and beautiful species.

Very nice. They look healthy.

mountain-kings Apr 06, 2008 04:44 PM

with golddusts is the male more bright than the female, the bright one on the left stays bright like this almost all the time, the one on the left fires up sometimes but is a little duller most times?

thanks tim
