substrate for young frillies

CHLAMYDOSAURUS Feb 28, 2008 02:53 PM

I hatched this year my first clutches of frillies. until now I used paper towels or newspaper as a substrate for youngsters. but some develop shedding problem may be due to low humidity. since I notice this problem, I began to spray water twice or more a day, but with this misting pattern, all the terrarium bottom soon become wery wet and soggy. what kind of substrate can I use? I live in Israel and coconuts bark is not avaiable. Can I put them peatmoss or aspen bedding? any suggestions will be welcome, thank you...

I use sand for my young animals. But not until after 2-3 months. I use a large shallow water bowl to fix my humidity problems. But you have to change it at least once a day, if not twice. Did you produce New Guinea's??
Good luck,
miz
