Calcium powders for laying Rhacodactylus

Severa Feb 28, 2008 10:42 PM

When you have a female auriculatus or ciliatus producing eggs, have any of you left calcium powders in a bowl for them to lick from? This is a practice I used to do with leopards as I had read that they readily accepted the powders out of the bowl during egg production. I haven’t heard of rhacodactylus doing it before but I was told that they do. Leaving a bowl out for them wouldn’t hurt but just wanted to know if anyone had ever witnessed them accepting the powders.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

What brand would be recommended as well please.

yes, i have witnessed both the eating, and the depletion of the amount of powder left in the dish.

i personally use rep-cal in the green jar, but any brand of pure calcium without D3, assuming your gecko is eating CGD, will work.
