current pic of my now brumating female taken tonight. She will awake on march 22, when I get back from mexico. She is very small, and still needs some meat on her, but should be ok to breed with my small male.

looking at her, and in comparison with the shavings she is on, I would gather that she is somewhere in the 20 - 24 inch range in length, no? She still seems a bit gaunt and, for her sake, would probably benefit from a season of just feeding. I'd assume this is her first year breeding. If that is so, even more reason to hold her back. She will need the fat reserves for when she goes off feed while gravid, the strength to push the eggs out, and a good baseline to get back to for after egg deposit. From what I see, I'd almost guess that she laid eggs a week ago had I not known her status. She's still really thin Tim, but that is just my opinion. Animals look great though! Let's see the other 3 females!

I got her from John Brekken, she is 5 years old and never bred. I kept her from brumating until december (to fatten her up), all the others went down in october. She is about 24 inches, and I tend to agree with you about her weight, in addition to the fact that I paid top dollar for her. She is the daughter of "pinky" the only Axanthic Agalma. I believe she came from Paul Lynum origionally. I just can't hardly wait to see if the axanthic gene will pass on and as it is, I will have to breed her back to her offspring, so we are talking years as it is. I will not take a chance with her. I do agree with you, I will weigh her when she comes up and give the final assesment, and may want to send you more pic's for your opinion. I will get the other females posted, They are ok with some crossovers, but still agalma. So give me a day or 2 to post them. Thanks for the advise. I do take it seriously as I have only been breeding reptiles for about 4 years. I learn all the time. -----Tim
