Frilled Lizard threw up??

c0de7477 Mar 09, 2008 09:57 PM

i purchased a frilled lizard yesterday.. he's probably about 2 months old. he's eating perfectly fine, seems very healthy, but i saw him throw up.. before he threw up, he was jumping around, trying to get out of the tank.. do you think he threw up because of stress, or because he was jumping around?? or is it something i should be worried about, or something i'm doing wrong?

any information would be greatly appreciated.

I ran into the same problem. It can be caused by two things actually. 1. The basking spot is not hot enough for him/her to digest the food. 2. He/She is too active afterwards, try not to stress it out while feeding. Just a few months ago my frilled was drinking and i scared her on accident and she threw up the water because she freaked out, Im sure the same could happen with food. Its probably nothing but If the problem persists, get a vet to check it out.

Honestly, it should be okay. What size crickets do you feed your baby frillie? It could be that she tried eating too many too fast, being used to eating smaller ones like candy.
It's something that happened to my bearded dragon, Leo. And I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen to my Frillie, Kiba, if she had done the same.

It might be because of the over excitement of moving, and the jumping just didn't help. lol Has it ever happened again?
