My Rosy is regurgitating

joshID Mar 15, 2008 03:11 PM

Hey guy's,
I just bought a 3 month old Albino Whitewater Rosy Boa ten days ago. The day I bought him I feed him a pinky, he ate it fine. Four days latter, I fed him another pinky which he regurgitated it that night. I was told it was because I feed him in a small box, then moved him 15 min. later back into his enclosure. I was also told not him handle him for 24 hours after he eats. So I bought a separate small 10 gl. enclosure with an under tank heater and 50 wt. heat lamp on one side. So I feed him in his new enclosure 3 days later and left him alone, he regurgitated about 16 hours later. Any one have any suggestions for what I can do? Why is he regurgitating? When should I try to feed him again? Please help!

Where did you get the rosy? Could be several things but most likely you now have a rosy whose gut needs some rest. Back to back regurge is not a good thing. Give it several weeks to get its gut load back to normal and then try feeding small prey items (live) one per 7-10 days. You can also try a product called nutri-bac to help reestablish a healthy stomach. Sorry to hear that though becuase I'd bet it was sold to you with that problem. That has been my experience in buying rosys.

Good luck,
Russ
