How do house geckos survive cold?

Hi
I live in Miami lots of house geckoes we had 2 weeks in Jan where temps at night were even down to high 40s .

Now its warm again and see lots house geckos how can non native tropical lizards who arent used to cold and dont hibernate survive these cold temps ?

I think high forties for night time temps is tolerable as long as they have access to warm daytime temps. Medditeranian House geckos are found as far north as southern Alabama.

Oh wow amazing would have never thought they were found further than GA .

They are out now in numbers at night lots of them I am glad as love seeing them but last winter was cold . We went a month without seeing one

I eat fruit every day apples,oranges and leave the core ,peels in back yard in certain area by the bushes it attracts insects which attracts anoles during the day house geckoes at night .
