Mom was a solid red and seems so far 1 red and 3 black ones are cutting their way out. Hopefully tomorrow all will be out for some photos. Photo of mom here also. I am rooting for 2 more reds although I see 3 black ones so far.

i've been looking at getting an egg eater lately but what is a good begginer species? how big does it get? how big an enclosure does an adult need to live comfortably? also what is the minimum cage size for an adult? what are its temp/humidity requirements? and if i decide to breed it where can i get a constant supply of finch/quail eggs? and please tell me any info that i need to know that i didn't ask about?
They grow 2-3 feet long and there are some web pages dedicated to their maintenance but don't recall their web addresses but a search might quickly turn up valuable information. A 10 gallon sized enclosure is fine for them as adults and they don't require high humidity. Eggs can easily be obtained via web pages that sell button quail eggs for like 25 cents each and a dozen eggs lasts months for them as they eat once or twice a month. I think these babies will be large enough to manage quail eggs or else I will be tube feeding them for a month or two with a metal feeding tube and syringe with chicken egg yolk. Their mother can manage to swallow a small chicken egg and she eats once a month.

thank you for the info. does the speicies really matter or do they all have similar/same needs? what are their personalities like? what are some reliable sights that sell quail eggs?
eggbid.com has auctions for eggs but to be quick about it, I just email the sellers and ask them how much for two dozen and paypal the funds and they ship them the next day and they arrive express mail and its a quick fast deal and the eggs go into the refrigerator and wait to be fed. These are the cheapiest snakes to feed actually. Here is a black baby that made it out of an egg today in my hand and an adult black I keep which is unrelated to the red momma.
