Just got my latest member of the family on thursday from a rescue a healthy girl she had her first meal last night. Very friendly her and my male seem to get along well as well. I'm very happy to have her just wanted to let you guys know.

Congrats on the new snake, but...

1. Your new female should not be interacting with your male especially if she is from a rescue situation. All new snakes should be quarantined in my opinion.

2. Dumeril's, especially younger dumeril's have a tendency towards cannibalism. Don't house them together, unless you are breeding them (which they are obviously too young for currently).

Thanks Amy for your reply. I had my vet here Thursday night to check her out clean bill of health. I NEVER house 2 snakes together just let them meet. I had a new cage built for the two of them 48 long 24 wide and 24 tall 3 inches of eco earth (they love to bury themselves). Thanks again for looking!

I always quarantine for at least a couple of months in a sep. area of the house. Vets cannot determine IBD, and a host of other conditions on a live snake. It is just good practice to quarantine.
