I know I've said this before but I just love the color on those southern and western subspecies. I just found my first snakes of the year a couple days ago but nothing relevant to the small terrestrial snake board yet

Finally! It's a Northern Ring-necked Snake found in VT. I've seen a few Gartersnakes over the past two weeks but this was my first non-garter of the year. I also saw Racers, Garters, and Red-bellied Snakes that day.
