pacoraban Apr 13, 2008 02:58 AM

hi, i found this creature while i was traveling in desert at night. can any of you help me ID this specie please? i had a hard time finding it since it has a close look to banded geckos, i am still not sure since the coloring is quiet different. this one is less than 4" long but i found another one that was longer than 9".

thanks

i forgot to mention that he sounds like a snake and shakes his tail like one when you get close to him
and he takes his tail high when stressed and running away. comes out an nights and not a fast runner.

I is is most possibly a Teratoscincus bedriagei, the most rare species of frogeyeds in captivity.
Can be kept as well as all other Teratoscincus spp.
hope this helps. And it is indeed in a juvenil coloration. How big is it?

Definatley a frog eye.....nice find there! Be careful, though, they have very delicate skin.
