Hiccupping???/Sick

wff5007 Apr 14, 2008 06:30 PM

I took out one of my juvenile crested geckos the other day and noticed that he was kind of hiccupping. His neck was sort of flapping in and out and he was licking a lot. Kind of seemed like he had to burp, but no noises or anything. I tried to open his mouth and from what I could see it looked normal. He seemed very excited and active as usual. Is this normal behavior in cresteds? I just worry b/c I have a snake with a slight respiratory infection...

Mine does that when he just ate a bunch of crickets and is trying to keep them down. Maybe he just found a few insects in his cage to eat? If you feed in a seperate container, it might be something else. At the moment though, I wouldn't get too worried. Just keep an eye on him.
