Hi All
I'm sure some of you are aware that fellow forum member Mike and I, joined forces in an attempt to breed our Western coachwhips...Well I'm happy to report that Mikes female laid 11 beautiful eggs early this morning...yeeehaaa!!
I know theres a long-way to go yet,but these could be the first British born whips for along time ...or ever!!

Kind regards to all Paul

Congratulations!
I wish you much luck, they are definitely very beautiful snakes. Those eggs look excellent. What color phase are the adults?

Thanks guys ...the eggs are in vermiculite at 28oC ....fingers crossed!!
These are the parents ...the female has more red pigment, but they are both similar in colour.
regards Paul

Congrats!!! Hope the best! Coachwhips are the COOLEST snake there are!

Wow, that male has a big chunky head! Beautiful snakes. I hope the eggs hatch and the babies do well for you, and that their progeny spread across the British Isles! Long live the Coachwhips.

I live in New Mexico and should soon start seeing some around. Ours are mostly beige like your male, but east of here, on the plains, there are some gorgeous brick red ones.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris
If you get chance please put up photo's of coachwhips in your area...its extremely interesting to note geographical forms etc...
many thanks Paul

p.s. We have no idea of the origin of our snakes...guess 'that's life' when you are a Masticophis lover living in Europe!!..lol!!
