uh Oh... what does this mean?

I took this picture yesturday after he ate. Afterwards he was fine and today he was fine. What is he doing? He was NOT basking before this pic so I don't think he was overheating. Cage temp is usually 69-76F degrees.

He just climbed up there and started doing this.

he was not foaming at the mouth, no spitting of saliva. Just standing upright bobbing side to side (losing balance?) with the mouth open.

What does it mean IF he was to spit up saliva?

Thats their "I'm P***ed about something" display. No worries unless he keeps doing it for no apparent reason. in this case find out what is bothering him through trial and error.

If it was right after he ate a large meal he might be dealing with an overful stomach. Chams have small stomachs and no sphyncter between it and the esophagus. If their stomach is full or they drink too much water, once they start climbing around they can aspirate stomach contents back into their throat. I don't think anything is actually wrong. We tend to feed our chams very large insects compared to what they would get in the wild.

He sure did pack down alot of food before this. 1 cricket, 2 freshly molted mealworm beetles, and approx 5 mealworms.

Was it a BIG item u fed him? Sometimes they have difficulty swallowing large items and "gaping" allows them to adjust the ligaments in there throat to accamodate the large item. I feed my Jackson's Dubia blaptica (guyanese roaches) and they will gape after swallowing a large one. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Oh, nice Werner's. lol
