Hi,

I bought an unknown lizard from my reptile shop today, he believed it to be a Sandfish. But it looks nothing like Egyptian sand fish or any other picture of sandfish Ive found online.

I did however find this picture from the Sacramento zoo and he hes a Madagascar Rainbow Sand Lizard.

Im writing to the zoo, but Im wondering if anyone here knows anything about this lizard and if it is in fact of sub species of Sandfish (Scincus Scincus)????

Any help would be great, Ive never even heard of these lizards. Thanks!

ok called the SAC ZOO.. it's Tracheloptychus petersi (Malagasy plated lizard)

ANY INFO???????

Frequently impoerted. Similar setup as for sand fish but with a stron basking spot, some smooth rocks to sit on and a moister corner.
