you should move them, and they do change colors depending on mood, stress level, and time of day. they will always look nicest at night. what you have to do is find a distinct trait each has. i have two dalmations together, i tell them apart by the fact one has 4 red dots on its side.

thanks-any advice on handling for the move? they seem real delicate-

cresteds are quite hardy - their skin is soft and velvety but will not rip off like other geckos. handle gently, no pinching or squeezing, but don't be afraid of them, they're tough

does the 3 inches include the tail? if so, a 5 gallon will be fine for awhile. when they double in size, you can move them up to a 10g.

yeah- by far- i put them in there though-cant hurt- is it ok to use a full spectrum during day?that wont stress them will it?

well, it is easier to monitor a small gecko in a smaller cage to make sure it is eating and defecating properly. you can use the light if you want but not necessary.

warnersister is right on that part, those are very small babies, i figured you meant s/v length. they could have done well in the 5, but would have needed the 10 in a few months anyway. sorry about that. just remember to keep them misted well, and gvie em a few good hiding spots. my younger ones always love the larger leaf artificial plants. they also loved the base of a live spider plant i had in a tanke with them once.
