any thoughts on this? Treatment? Just noticed today. My first thought was shed problems but the tank is very well misted twice a day.

it could be a lot of problems. he will most likely lpse the tip though. im sorry. it could have been shed. it could also be due to the fact that a tankmate is overagressive. im not saying it has any, but if it does id try seperating them for a little while. my females get quite nippy at my males when they wanna have too much fun. it could also be crickets. ive seen crickets chew up lizards tails pretty bad. they even got my niger uromastyx's tail from 2 spikes up. i was real mad at that.. but hes ok, so all is good. it could have also been the cover be3ing shut on it, or a rock or other heavy tank ornament catching it. the causes are endless on cases like that.

i have had issues like this which seem to stem from LACK of humidity, so not sure what your case is. make sure your geckos have a water dish just in case of dehydration. you can put a bit of lukewarm water and a paper towel in a deli cup and have the gecko sit in there a couple hours, then take a damp q-tip to it and gently try to rub any skin off. you could also use a shedding aid spray to help moisturize it. more often than not, it will lose the tip, and sometimes it will heal with a bit of tail missing, other times it just gets worse and the gecko needs to drop the tail.
