Gecko in need of ID

cowgirlmo May 08, 2008 06:43 PM

this came in to my local herp shop as a chinese cave gecko, which it obviously isn't. I bought a pair of them, and this is the female, which is a stub tail. They have a horrible disposition and will bite when you open the tank to water. They are about 3-4" SVL.

what the heck is that? Is there a common name? Where can I read on their care?

Google it...... http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=Homopholis fasciata&btnG=Search&meta=

Common names are useless, I always use latin names.

The most common name I've heard is "African Velvet Gecko"

Not sure if they have a common name. I havnt found any care sheets on them either really. I know a few people with them. They are awesome animals. They are a desert species so dont keep them like cave geckos I do know that.
