lets see some outdoor cages im about to build a new one and looking for ideas.
I have an outdoor basking cage, but I've heard too many unpleasant stories about tegus kept outside. Your mileage may vary, but many anecdotes include tegus that become more aggressive when kept outside. Then again, many breeders have outdoor enclosures.
how could u not keep them outside? if it is warm out it mean not to put them out.
LOL, I have so many herps that if I tried to put them all outside, I'd have no backyard and very concerned neighbors. I don't consider it 'mean' to keep my tegus indoors. My large female is in the garage where it is considerable warmer anyway. All my animals have proper lighting with proper temps, and are in properly sized enclosures.
'Mean' is such a subjective word...if my tegu gets a fair amount of free roaming time and someone else's does not because they have to go to work during the day, is that mean? This tegu of mine was in an outdoor cage growing up, but kept on concrete until she had no nails, fed dog food and table scraps, undersized, and had a broken tail...that's mean...I'm not mean.
well i guess we just disagree i was just asking to see pictures of outdoor cages not for your opinions, but u bought it up so if u are looking for a pet to cuddle with u should buy a kitten who cares if the tegu gets mean? and since i herd your view now here is mine yes i do think u are cruel if u have the means to keep a sun loving reptile outside u should and try to keep them out there as long as possible buy all means neceassary. and let them go threw there natural cycles in a natural safe enclosure, keeping one on cement with no place to hide and no shade is not natural or fair or safe. but in a 8ft x 12ft secure enclosure with a good thick dirt substrate and good shade and hide boxes and water bowl. yes i see as fair outside keeping. this also enclude breeding one should try and help captive breeding efforts. plus i find far more fun in watching animals go threw natural cycles. i have a dog ill snuggle with her she enjoys it and leave my tegu for watching.
Yes, we can agree to disagree.
Really...didn't mean to get your feathers in a ruff, kid, just explaining why you may not get see a lot of those kinds of pictures and what the opinions of others were. It is a 'forum'.
Try thetegu.com for a better response than here.

If no one else ever responds to threads and you send them somewhere else, is that spamming? :0 I thought spamming was sending unsolicited junk mail to someone's email box.
Thanks, I forgot to include tegutalk.com, another great site by a great breeder.
